How To Install Blinds

How To Install Your New Blinds

Installing your new window blinds doesn’t have to be difficult. All you have to do is follow the short guide below and before you know it, your new blinds will be catching eyes and compliments from visitors and passer-byers alike.

Before you start, you can make the installation process a smoother one by quickly getting together the following “tools:”

  • Pencil
  • Measuring tape
  • Drill
  • Screwdriver
  • Blinds and hardware
  • Safety glasses
  1. Your new custom blinds have already been measured and cut to size so the first thing you will want to do is mark mounting points for the brackets (depending on your mount, these may go on the inside of the window frame or the outside, which you determined when you ordered your new blinds).
  2. Pre-drill the holes.
  3. Mount the brackets with a manual screwdriver.
  4. Place the caps on the blinds and snap them into place.

Quick Tips

Installing your blinds will be easier if you have someone help by holding them in position while you work.

Make sure that the brackets are positioned correctly so that the blinds will be centered in the window and, more importantly, will not catch on the window frame.

Always drill pilot holes before actually screwing in the brackets.

Use a drill bit that's slightly smaller than the screw you'll be using.

Wear safety glasses while drilling.
